Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Symantec products include various software applications that deal with security and information management. A remote attacker could exploit this issue by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML document or open a malicious web page. Successful exploitation could result in remote code execution on the target system once the malicious page is loaded. The vulnerabilities are due to errors in AxSysListView32 and AxSysListView32OAA (NavComUI.dll) ActiveX controls that fail to properly handle "AnomalyList" and "Anomaly" properties. To trigger these issues, an attacker may create a malicious web page that will exploit these vulnerabilities. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. |
This protection will detect and block the vulnerable ActiveX Controls.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
