Vulnerability Description | Crystal Reports is a software used for designing and generating reports from numerous data sources. A buffer overflow vulnerability has been identified in Business Objects Crystal Reports. A remote attacker could trigger this flaw by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted Crystal Reports file.Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow execution of arbitrary code on a target system. |
This protection will block the transferring of the crafted .RPT files over HTTP.The detect mode makes it possible to track unauthorized traffic without blocking it.Depending on the traffic mix, activating this protection may result in performance degradation.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
