Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Microsoft Internet Explorer is the most widely used Internet browser. A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer. The flaw is located in multiple ActiveX Controls of Aurigma Image Uploader and of HP Instant Support HPISDataManager.dll. ActiveX controls are reusable software components based on Microsoft Component Object Model (COM). A remote attacker could exploit this issue by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML document or open a malicious web page. Successful exploitation could result in remote code execution on the target system once the malicious page is loaded. |
This protection will detect and block the vulnerable ActiveX Controls.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
