Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | The Trend Micro Control Manager product is a centralized outbreak management console. It is meant to consolidate the coordination of outbreak security actions and the management of Trend Micro products and services. The product is a central command center for management of infections or vulnerabilities and for information regarding virus events or unusual activities. There exists a heap buffer overflow in Trend Micro Control Manager. The flaw is caused by improper validation of the user supplied chunked length value. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject and execute arbitrary code in the security context of the underlying web server on the target system. In a case of an attack where code injection is not successful, the target will not demonstrate any obvious behaviour, except the unhandled exception has been written into the system log of the target server. In a case of an attack where code injection is successful, the attacker could execute the arbitrary code, and even control on the whole system. The behavior of the target depends on the injected arbitrary code. |
