Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description The Citrix MetaFrame products are remote access and application publishing products built on Citrix' Independent Computing Architecture (ICA). The products allow for access and control of the remote hosts as well as deploying applications. There exists a memory access violation vulnerability in Citrix MetaFrame Presentation server. The flaw is due to improper handling of user supplied data in the messages. This issue can be exploited by an unauthenticated attacker to terminate the IMA service of Citrix MetaFrame Presentation server, causing a denial of service condition. In a successful attack case, the affected Independent Management Architecture service will terminate abnormally. The service will be unavailable until it is restarted manually.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R81 / R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Citrix Presentation Server IMA Invalid Event Data Length Denial of Service protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
