Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Adobe Flash Player is a multimedia and application player. Flash Player runs the Sockware Flash (SWF) files, which contains multimedia content including vector and raster graphics, video, audio, and scripts. Flash Player is made available as a plug-in for a wide range of web browser applications. There exists a buffer overflow vulnerability in the way Adobe Flash Player processes FLV video files. The vulnerability is due to lack of input validation while parsing script data tags in FLV files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing the target user to open malicious FLV files, potentially causing arbitrary code to be injected and executed in the security context of the current user. An attack targeting this vulnerability can result in the injection and execution of code. If code execution is successful, the behavior of the target will depend on the intention of the attacker. Any code injected will be executed within the security context of the currently logged in user. In the case of an unsuccessful code execution attack, the affected application will terminate from the current session. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.
