Vulnerability Description | BMP is an image file format used to store bitmap digital images. A buffer overflow vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Reader and Acrobat. The vulnerability is due to the way that Adobe Reader and Acrobat handle malformed BMP files. A remote attacker may trigger this issue by convincing a user to open a specially crafted BMP image file. Successful exploitation will create a denial of service condition, causing the application to become non-responsive, and may allow execution of arbitrary code. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to transfer malformed BMP files over HTTP.
