Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description An Information Disclosure vulnerability has been reported in the Adobe Flash Player. The Adobe Flash Player is a multimedia and application player that renders Shockwave Flash (SWF) files. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability to verify if a file exists on a remote vulnerable system. The vulnerability is due to an error in the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX control. A remote attacker might exploit this issue by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted Web page. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may lead to information disclosure.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe Flash PlugIn File Existence Data Disclosure (APSB09-19) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:

Attack Name:  Web Client Enforcement Violation.
