Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A stack exhaustion vulnerability exists in the Microsoft Internet Explorer Script Engine. The flaw is caused by certain types of recursive function calls in Javascript code. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service condition of the vulnerable application. In an attack case addressing this vulnerability, the vulnerable version of the product will terminate after the exhaustion of stack memory, thus a denial of service condition will result. The amount of time a malicious script needs in order to exhaust stack memory and terminate depends on the current application stack size. |
