Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) is the most widely used web browser application. The browser is capable of processing HTML, scripting languages, and interpretation of various other popular Internet specifications. There exists a memory corruption vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer. The vulnerability is caused due to a flaw while processing nested HTML Object tags leading to memory corruption. A remote attacker may exploit this issue via a malicious web page to cause denial of service or execute arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged in user. In case of an attack where code injection is unsuccessful, the target application may terminate or become unresponsive. Note that triggering this vulnerability sometimes occurs upon a page refresh or loading another resource. In case of an attack where code injection and execution is successful, the behavior of the target host is dependent on the intended purpose of the injected code. Any code injected will run within the privileges of the currently logged in user. |
