Vulnerability Description | Microsoft Internet Explorer is the most widely used web browser application used today. The browser is capable of processing HTML, scripting languages, and various other popular Internet specifications. A vulnerability has been identified in Microsoft Internet Explorer. The vulnerability is created by an insufficient validation of user supplied event handler assignments. An attacker can potentially exploit this vulnerability to inject and execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable host. In case of an attack where code injection is not successful, the affected application will terminate. In case of a more sophisticated attack where code injection is successful, the behavior of the target is entirely dependent on the intended function of the injected code. The code in such a case would execute within the security context of the current user. |
