Vulnerability Description | Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS) is a set of libraries designed to support cross-platform development of security-enabled client and server applications. NSS provides a support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Secure / Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) and other security standards. There exists a buffer overflow vulnerability in Mozilla Network Security Services (NSS). The vulnerability is due to improper handling of the master key while negotiating an SSLv2 session. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system in the context of the affected application, commonly System. Upon an attack where code execution is unsuccessful, the affected server application will encounter an unexpected exception. Normally, the process of the affected application will terminate abnormally. |
