Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the OpenOffice software suite. The vulnerability is due to the way OpenOffice parses specially crafted Rich Text Format (RTF) documents. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to open a specially crafted RTF file, potentially causing arbitrary code to be injected and executed in the security context of the logged in user. An attack targeting this vulnerability can result in the injection and execution of code. If code execution is successful, the behavior of the target will depend on the intention of the attacker. Any code injected will be executed within the security context of the currently logged in user. In attack case where code execution is unsuccessful, affected product will terminate resulting in the loss of any unsaved data from the current session. |
