Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | RealPlayer and RealOne Player are media player applications developed by RealNetworks, Inc. These applications are capable of playing back numerous multimedia file formats. The application can open media files from local file system or network servers. A heap overflow vulnerability exists in RealNetworks multiple products. The vulnerability is due to boundary errors when processing RealAudio (RA) files. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing the target user to open a crafted RA file. In an attack case where code injection is successful, the behavior of the target is entirely dependent on the intended function of the injected code. The code in such a case would execute within the security context of the current user. In an attack case where code injection is not successful, the affected Player process will terminate abnormally. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.
