Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) is the most widely used web browser application today. The browser is capable of processing HTML, scripting languages, and interpretation of various other popular Internet specifications. There are numerous versions of the HTML standard that are interpreted by the browser. There exists a memory corruption vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer. A crafted webpage can cause Internet Explorer to access uninitialized memory leading to a crash or execution of arbitrary code within the context of the currently logged in user. An attack targeting this vulnerability can result in the injection and execution of arbitrary code. If code execution is successful, the behavior of the target will depend on the intention of the attacker. Any injected code will be executed within the security context of the currently logged in user. In an attack case where code execution is unsuccessful, Internet Explorer may terminate abnormally. |
