Vulnerability Description | AXIS Communications provides professional network video solutions for surveillance and remote monitoring. The surveillance products by AXIS include network cameras, video servers, video decoders, video management software, and a full range of accessories. AXIS Camera Control is one of such remote image/video monitoring solutions provided by AXIS Communications. There exists a buffer overflow vulnerability in the ActiveX Camera Control by AXIS Communications. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in the handling of "image_pan_tilt" property of the control. As a result of this, heap-based buffer overflow can occur which will allow for arbitrary code injections and execution. If code execution is successful, the behavior of the target will depend on the malicious code injected. Any injected code will be executed within the security context of the currently logged in user. In the case of an unsuccessful code execution attack, Internet Explorer would terminate abnormally. |
