Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A memory corruption vulnerability exists in Adobe Reader and Acrobat. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation in the implementation of the getAnnots JavaScript method. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing the target user to open a malicious PDF file. In an attack case where code injection is not successful, the affected Acrobat application parsing the malicious PDF document can terminate abnormally. In a more sophisticated attack where code injection is successful, the behaviour of the target host is entirely dependent on the intended function of the injected code. The injected code, in this case, would execute within the security context of the currently logged in user.
