Vulnerability Description | EMC Captiva PixTools is a suite of software developer toolkits that provides image scanning, viewing, and processing functionality. This software application can be integrated into existing applications serving as either a centralized or distributed document capture module. EMC Captiva PixTools runs on several Windows platforms. A vulnerability has been reported in EMC Captiva PixTools Distributed Imaging ActiveX Control, that can allow remote attackers to take control of a vulnerable system by enticing a user to visit a maliciously crafted web page. In a successful attack scenario, where arbitrary code is injected and executed on the vulnerable target host, the behavior of the target system is dependent on the malicious code. Note that any code executed by the attacker runs with the privileges of the logged in user. |
