Vulnerability Description | MySQL is a popular open-source implementation of a relational database that supports the Structured Query Language (SQL) for querying and updating stored data. Communication with the database occurs using the MySQL protocol. As with other database implementations, MySQL has a number of built-in SQL functions and supported operators that are designed to assist the user with the task of querying and updating the database. A denial of service vulnerability exists in MySQL database server. The vulnerability is due to an input validation error while parsing a specially crafted query containing a view using temporary tables and certain procedure. Remote authenticated users can exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service condition. Successful exploitation would cause the database service to terminate abnormally. |
