Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open file format created by Adobe Systems. A memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Reader and Acrobat. The vulnerability is due to an integer overflow in Adobe Reader and Acrobat when processing the "Shading Count" field in the CLOD Mesh Declaration block of a malformed U3D stream of a PDF file. A remote attacker could trigger this issue via a specially crafted PDF file. Successful exploitation will create a denial of service condition, causing the application to become non-responsive, and may allow execution of arbitrary code once a malicious PDF file is loaded on a vulnerable system. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to transfer malformed PDF files over HTTP.
