Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description	The HP OpenView product consists of a suite of network and system management software applications developed by HP. It includes several optional modules and components, such as OpenView Quality Manager, OpenView Performance Insight, and OpenView Network Node Manager. A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM) ovwebsnmpsrv.exe. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in ovutil.dll when handling HTTP requests sent to the jovgraph.exe CGI application. A remote unauthenticated attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to a target server, potentially causing arbitrary code to be injected and executed in the security context of the Internet Guest account.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP OpenView NNM ovwebsnmpsrv.exe Command Line Argument Buffer Overflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
Install policy on all Security Gateways.
