Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description PICT is a graphics file format that allows the interchange of graphics (both bitmapped and vector), and some limited text support, between Mac applications. A remote code execution vulnerability has been discovered in the way that Microsoft Office allocates buffer size when handling PICT image files. The vulnerability is due to an error in Microsoft Office PICT Image Converter that fails to properly allocate buffer sizes in memory. A remote attacker may trigger this issue by convincing a user to open an Office document containing a specially crafted PICT image file. By persuading a user to open the malformed file, an attacker could take complete control of an affected system.
