Vulnerability Description | IBM Cognos Express is an integrated business intelligence (BI) and planning solution developed for midsized companies. It provides reporting, analysis, dashboard, scorecard, planning, budgeting and forecasting capabilities. A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in IBM Cognos Express. The vulnerability is due to hard-coded user credentials, with manager-level permissions, installed by default in the user configuration of the bundled Tomcat server. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by using these credentials to connect to the vulnerable server over port 19300/TCP and deploy a malicious web application on a vulnerable system. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. |
