Vulnerability Description | Apache HTTP server is a popular web server that is capable of being utilized with many different options and configurations, with a wide variety of plug-in modules which are loaded at run-time to extend its functionality. One of the technologies supported by Apache HTTP server is Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI). A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Apache HTTP server. The flaw is due an error in the mod_isapi when processing maliciously crafted HTTP requests. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability to cause a memory corruption by sending a crafted HTTP request to a target server. Successful exploitation would cause the application to terminate abnormally, and and may allow execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. |
This protection will detect and block specially crafted HTTP requests sent to the vulnerable server.
