Vulnerability Description | NetSupport Manager is a remote PC support and desktop management system which functions on many platforms. It is considered as a replacement for typical remote desktop applications such as Windows Terminal Service. A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in NetSupport Manager client daemon process. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in the NetSupport Manager client daemon process while handling remote handshake messages on port 5405/TCP. A remote attacker could exploit this issue by sending a malicious request to the target client service. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability would allow injection and execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system and may terminate the service causing denial of service condition. |
