Vulnerability Description | RealWin is a SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) server product developed by RealFlex Technologies. SCADA is an industrial control system, in which a computer system monitors and controls an industrial, infrastructure or facility based process. A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in RealFlex RealWin SCADA server. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in RealFlex RealWin SCADA server while handling FC_CTAGLIST_FCS_CADDTAG, FC_CTAGLIST_FCS_CDELTAG, and FC_CTAGLIST_FCS_ADDTAGMS requests sent to the server. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability via a specially crafted packet. Successful exploitation would cause a stack buffer overflow that could lead to a denial of service condition and may allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. |
This protection detects and blocks malformed requests sent to the vulnerable server.
