Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Acrobat and Reader. The vulnerability is due to an error when parsing the header of a PICT image. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by enticing an unsuspecting user to open a malicious PDF document file. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute code in the target system, in the security context of the logged-on user. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malicious PDF files.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
