Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description A credentials disclosure vulnerability has been reported in CA ARCserve D2D. The vulnerability is due to an error while processing Google Web Toolkit (GWT) RPC requests. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted RPC request to an affected server. Successful attack will lead to the user's credentials disclosure, which may later be exploited by an attacker to execute code on the affected system, with administrator privileges.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block malicious RPC requests sent to the server.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the CA ARCserve D2D GWT RPC Request Credentials Disclosure protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:

Attack Name:  Application Servers Protection Violation.
