Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A remote code execution vulnerability has been reported in Oracle Java RMI services.The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of URLs when loading a remote Java object. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious RMI request to the target server. Successful exploitation would allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code, in the security context of the target service. |
This protection will detect and block specially crafted RMI requests sent to the server.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
