Vulnerability Description | A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in libtasn1, a component of GnuTLS. |
Vulnerability Details | The vulnerability is due to an error in the libtasn1 library while handling length fields within the ASN.1 fields. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted certificates to the target service. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the security context of the affected service. An exploitation attempt may also cause the service to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. |
