Who is Vulnerable? | HP Data Protector Media Operations 6.20 and prior |
Vulnerability Description | A heap memory corruption vulnerability has been reported in HP Data Protector Media Operations. |
Vulnerability Details | The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of the Offset parameter while handling certain packets. A remote attacker may trigger this vulnerability by sending specially crafted connection requests to a target server. Successful exploitation could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code on the target system. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to deliver crafted requests to the target host.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the HP Data Protector Media Operations Memory Corruption protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
2. Install policy on all modules.
