Vulnerability Description | A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in MIT Kerberos. |
Vulnerability Details | The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL pointer dereference in the response dispatch routine in the Key Distribution Center (KDC) service. A remote attacker may exploit this vulnerability by sending a malformed request packet to the affected service. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to cause a denial of service condition in the target service. |
This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed packets.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the MIT Kerberos KDC NULL Pointer Denial of Service protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings. 2. Install policy on all modules.
