Vulnerability Details | The vulnerability is due to an error in win32k.sys while opening web pages containing a specially crafted IFrame tag. A remote attacker may exploit this issue by enticing users to open a web page containing an IFrame with an overly large "height" attribute. Successful exploitation may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system with kernel-mode privileges. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to open specially crafted web pages.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Windows Win32k.sys Malformed IFrame Memory Corruption (MS12-008) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
2. Install policy on all modules.
