Vulnerability Description A denial of service vulnerability has been reported in Digium Asterisk.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to a NULL-pointer dereference error while handling a closed client connection in the SCCP (Skinny) channel driver. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by closing a connection to the Asterisk server in certain call states. The attacker will have to use a valid SCCP ID to close the connection. Successful exploitation would cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Digium Asterisk Skinny Channel NULL-Pointer Dereference protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
