Vulnerability Description | A script execution vulnerability has been reported in Wireshark. |
Vulnerability Details | The vulnerability is due to insecure loading of the console.lue script file while handling malformed .pcap files. A remote attacker may exploit this issue by enticing a target user to open a malformed .pcap file from a WebDAV or SMB share. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute an arbitrary lua script in the security context of the logged-on user. |
This protection will detect and block attempts to transfer malicious console.lua and a .pcap file on a WebDAV or SMB share.
