Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A stack buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in ASUS Net4Switch. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in several methods of the ipswcom.dll ActiveX control. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to visit a specially crafted web-page. Successful exploitation would allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the security context of the target user. |
This protection will detect and block the vulnerable ActiveX control.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
