Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Cisco Linksys. The vulnerability is due to insufficient boundary checks in an ActiveX control. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open a specially crafted web page. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, in the security content of the logged on user. |
This protection will detect and block the vulnerable ActiveX control.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
