Who is Vulnerable? Novell File Reporter 1.0.2
Vulnerability Description A file upload vulnerability has been reported in Novell File Reporter.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to lack of authorization on certain requests. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted request to the target. Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary files being uploaded and written to the file system with SYSTEM privileges.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the transferring of specially crafted requests to the target.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Novell File Reporter FSFUI File Upload protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
