Who is Vulnerable? Sophos Threat Detection Engine Prior to 3.37.2
Vulnerability Description An integer underflow vulnerability has been reported in Sophos Anti-Virus.
Vulnerability DetailsThe vulnerability is due to insufficient parameters validation while parsing RAR files. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by causing the affected software to process a specially crafted RAR file. Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the affected service.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your product to the latest update. For information on how to update , go to SBP-2006-05, Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Sophos Anti-Virus RAR VMSF_RGB Filter Parsing Integer Underflow protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all modules.
