Who is Vulnerable? Adobe Systems ColdFusion 8
Frederico Knabben FCKeditor 2.6.4 and prior
Vulnerability Description A vulnerability has been reported in Adobe Systems ColdFusion that could allow remote users to upload files in arbitrary directories potentially leading to a system compromise. The vulnerability is due to an input validation error in the FCKeditor which is embedded in ColdFusion 8. Remote attackers could exploit this vulnerability by sending a maliciously crafted request to the vulnerable application.

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe ColdFusion FCKeditor Input Validation Flaw Arbitrary File Upload protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
