Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Mail attachments containing JavaScript code were observed as part of various phishing campaigns. A remote attacker could send e-mails including those files and convince users to manually trigger their execution. This would allow the malicious code to run and infect the target system. This method is often used by ransomware such as Locky, Cerber, CryptoXXX, and others. |
This protection detects and blocks attempts to exploit this vulnerability.
In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.
