Who is Vulnerable? Apache Tomcat 10.0.0-M1 to 10.0.0-M5, 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.35 and 8.5.0 to 8.5.55
Vulnerability Description A denial of service vulnerability exists in Apache Tomcat. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP2 packet to a vulnerable server. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in denial of service conditions.

This protection detects attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Apache Tomcat Denial of Service (CVE-2020-11996) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
