Who is Vulnerable? GIMP 3.0.8
Vulnerability Description A heap overflow vulnerability in GIMP allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a heap-based buffer.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R82 / R81 / R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the GIMP Heap Overflow (CVE-2026-4153) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
