Who is Vulnerable? GIMP 3.0.6
Vulnerability Description A out of bounds write vulnerability in GIMP allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a write past the end of an allocated buffer.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R81 / R80 / R77 / R75

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the GIMP Out Of Bounds Write (CVE-2026-2045) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.
