Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS). A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft SQL Server. The vulnerability is due to a boundary error in the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Client Components ActiveX Control sqlvdir.dll when handling parameters passed to the Connect method. To trigger this issue, an attacker may create a malicious web page that will exploit this vulnerability. Successful exploitation would cause a memory corruption that may allow execution of arbitrary code on a vulnerable system. |
This protection will detect and block the vulnerable ActiveX control.
