Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description The Firefox and Mozilla web browsers are applications designed for tasks related to browsing the web, such as displaying HTML encoded pages, downloading files, and so on. The web browser implements security restrictions on the execution of scripts and access to certain resources based on the origin of the HTML resource being rendered. A vulnerability exists in the Mozilla and Firefox web browser's privileges enforcement mechanism. The browser may be tricked into loading high privileged chrome pages from an unprivileged page. Combined with other vulnerabilities, this vulnerability may be exploited by a remote attacker to inject arbitrary code into a vulnerable target browser. A successful attack may result in high privileged chrome pages being loaded by remote resources. Combined with exploiting other vulnerabilities, arbitrary javascript code may be executed on the target host with the privileges of the currently logged in user. In such cases the behaviour of the target host is dependant on the intention of the injected script.
