Who is Vulnerable? | |
Vulnerability Description | The Citrix Program Neighborhood is the client software used to access applications, server desktops, and other content published by an administrator. All resources accessible from the client are stored on servers running the MetaFrame Presentation Server. These servers are generally set up in groups referred to as server farms on local area networks. Published resources are grouped together into application sets which the client may access. A remotely exploitable heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the Citrix Program Neighborhood product. The vulnerability is created by insufficient handling of malformed application set responses. This flaw may be exploited by malicious users to inject and execute arbitrary code on the target host. The client application will terminate as a result of an attack with unsuccessful code injection. This will result in a denial of service condition on the client side. In the case of a successful code injection and execution attack, the process flow of the client application will be diverted to attacker controlled code. In such a case, the behavior of the host is entirely dependent on the intention of the malicious code. The client application will also stop operating properly as a result of such an attack. |
