Vulnerability Description | Adobe Flash Player is a multimedia and application player. Flash Player renders Shockwave Flash (SWF) files, which contain various forms of multimedia content, including vector and raster graphics, video, audio, and scripts. Flash Player is available as a plug-in for a wide range of web browsers, as well as a stand-alone application. There exists a remote command execution vulnerability in Adobe Flash Player for Linux. The vulnerability is a result of failure to validate user input when parsing maliciously crafted SWF files. An attacker may exploit this vulnerability by enticing a target user to open a malicious SWF file. Successful exploitation can lead to execution of system commands in the security context of currently logged on user. An attack targeting this vulnerability can result in the injection and execution of command. If command execution is successful, the behaviour of the target will depend on the intention of the attacker. Any command will be executed within the security context of the currently logged in user. |
