Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description	The Microsoft Office WordPerfect Converter assists users to convert documents from Corel WordPerfect file formats to Microsoft Word file formats.The Microsoft Office Converter Pack allows Office to use additional document formats that were not natively supported. The vulnerability is due a stack corruption when the WordPerfect converter processes malformed WordPerfect files.A remote attacker could trigger this flaw by convincing the victim to open a specially crafted WordPerfect document.Successful exploitation of this issue allows execution of arbitrary code once a malformed file is being loaded on a vulnerable system.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block the transferring of malformed WordPerfect files over HTTP.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70

In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Microsoft Word 2000 WordPerfect Converter Stack Corruption (MS09-010) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:

Attack Name: Content Protection Violation.
