Who is Vulnerable?
Vulnerability Description Multiple Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (XSRF) vulnerabilities have been discovered in Adobe ColdFusion server. Adobe ColdFusion is an application server for developing dynamically generated Web sites. A remote attacker could exploit this issue to execute a cross-site scripting attack that could potentially lead to code execution. The vulnerabilities are due to an error in the Adobe ColdFusion server that fails to sufficiently validate input when processing client HTTP requests. A remote attacker could trigger this issue by sending a malicious link to an administrator. Successful exploitation of this issue will allow the attacker to steal administrator's cookie or change the administrator password.

Protection Overview

This protection will detect and block attempts to exploit this vulnerability.

In order for the protection to be activated, update your Security Gateway product to the latest IPS update. For information on how to update IPS, go to SBP-2006-05, click on Protection tab and select the version of your choice.

Security Gateway R80 / R77 / R75 / R71 / R70

  1. In the IPS tab, click Protections and find the Adobe ColdFusion Server Cross-Site Request Forgery (APSB09-12) protection using the Search tool and Edit the protection's settings.
  2. Install policy on all Security Gateways.

This protection's log will contain the following information:
